Above, John O. Meusebach, Founder of Fredericksburg, market place for the Hahn family. Meusebach, a founding father of pioneer Fredericksburg...city is today a hub of both social and commercial activity. For the Hahn family in this story, it was the marketplace for their farm products and the shopping place for the few items they needed to buy to survive during the Depression years... Vereins Kirche, below, originally built as a church for all the people... still stands today in the center of Fredericksburg and is, as during the author's youth, a symbol of pioneer spirit and courage...
